IKOUSTIC MUTECLIP

This tried and tested clip,  Compliant with both Part E Building regulations (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) and Building Standards Technical Handbook 2017 for Scotland for impact transmission, is a set of dual density rubber polymers, reducing noise over a wide range of frequencies. The idea of the muteclip is to minimise the points of contact with the sub structure, reducing impact and airborne noise whilst acting as a vibration dampner. This clip is used in a variety of systems. When combined with a soundproof mat 'Tecsound', acoustic insulation and a double layer of acoustic plasterboard, all sealed with specialist acoustic and intumescent sealant, a highly efficient, tested and air tight barrier is created. This can then be plastered creating a seamless finish in any area.

MUTEBOARD SOUNDPROOF PLASTERBOARD

Another product developed, tried and tested, meeting the relevant building regulations, comes the specially designed soundproof  plasterboard 'Muteboard'.

There are three options, Muteboard 2, Muteboard 3 and Muteboard 4, ranging in thickness and different levels of soundproofing, dependant on the level of airborne soundproofing required. These boards can be fixed to multiple substrates, solid walls fixed with nylon hammer fixings, studwork, or used with the muteclip system explained above. If being mechanically fixed to a solid wall, it is vital that the wall be flat. This requires the wall to be rendered, before the board can be fixed enabling a stronger substructure.

Muteboard 4, shown in the picture is the thickest of the three boards at 27mm thick. This offers the greatest soundproofing qualities out of the three boards. A four-ply soundproof make-up, comprising of two layers of mass loading vinyl at two and four mm thick. Bonded between these layers is a six mm closed cell foam. These three layers are then bonded directly to a 15mm acoustic plasterboard, enabling a finish of plaster to be applied as normal.

Mass Loading Vinyl

used as sound proof dampening. Its flexible mass positively breaks down vibration energy from surrounding rigid materials.

Closed Cell Foam

Provides a level of decoupling from the sub structure.

Acoustic Plasterboard

Increased density over standard plasterboard
